What happens after registration?

The quick answer if you are in a rush is...Winter Clinics> Player Evaluations & Manager selection> Player Draft> Coaches meeting> practice> Opening Day> Play ball!

Winter Clinics- Begin in January and are open to all registered, age appropriate players.

Player Evaluations (ages 9 and up)- will be towards the end of February and beginning of March,

You will be contacted with your Players reporting day and time after registration closes. Please make every effort to get your Players to the time that they are assigned.

The purpose of the player evaluations is to give us an opportunity to assess the skill level of our players so that we can have competitive balance with our teams and make sure that all players are in a division they will be most comfortable playing in based on their skill set.

Our Player Agent, Erica Ward will need assistance at the evaluations by all our Managers and Coaches. If you plan on Managing or Coaching a team this season, please make every effort to be at the evaluations to help him out as this will give you a good opportunity to see the players in your division prior to the Player Draft. hint, hint! Note... The evaluations are only for players league age 9 - 14 (Minors up to Juniors). Evaluations are not necessary for Tee Ball or Rookie Ball. 

Manager Selection- We will also begin selecting our Team Managers during this time as we see how many teams we will have for the upcoming season. If you are interested in being a Team Manager (Head Coach) or assist in Coaching a team, please let me know ASAP if you have not done so already. All Team Managers are selected by the League President and will be approved by the Colonial Little League Board of Directors at the March Board meeting. All Managers and Coaches need to register as such online on our website and have a mandatory background check completed annually.

The Player draft is normally done by mid-March with a Coaches meeting to follow shortly after. Practices will begin after the draft and as soon as the weather allows.
